This is probably unrelated but maybe not. I get a strange error message
when I try to start various programs, and they won't run on this PC. One is
Quicken. I get the same Application Error message: The application failed
to initialize properly (0xc00000034). Click on OK to terminate the
application. Preceding the "Application Error" is the program that didn't
run; in the case of Quicken it's qw.exe, but that's just an example.

Any thought from the computer gurus among us would be appreciated.

Hi all,

For Jim N7US.................
When I start Windows, I get exactly the same as Bill W6WRT.
However, I have had a problem in the past where the rig would go to Tx when
Windows had completed the power-up and I also had to start MMTTY to get it
to close.

I found it was the way another program had closed, leaving the PTT port
"high". Sadly, I can't remember which bit of amateur radio related software
it was now, but it was always after running that.
I seem to recall that it was a program for PSK31.

Someone on this list will remember what you do to the WIN.INI file to get
Windows to always clear the COM port back to normal when you start. I am
sure I read of a way to do this somewhere.

I also have a minor problem after running Writelog, in that MMTTY cannot see
the rig.
I have to use another utility to reset that COM port, and away it goes once
more.

Hope you find out what is causing it!

73 for now
