For those who might be tempted to try 160 meters, there is a beacon
station you might want to listen for. K7RAT/b is on 1999.5 from
Oregon. It is a CW beacon of course, and there is a relatively long
pause in his cycle, so if you don't hear anything when you first tune
in, wait for at least 30 seconds or so. 

He is a pretty consistent S5 here in Southern California, about 840
miles away. It's interesting to listen to him fade in and out with
sunset and sunrise. 

Some folks have told me I am easily amused. :-)
