I have one computer with on-board 16 bit sound, and a 
Soundblaster Live! 24 bit pci card. I have watched those two 
devices side-by-side on all kinds of rtty signals, and can find 
absolutely no difference in performance. Now, to simplify 
cabling, I just use onboard sound for rtty decoding, and the 
soundblaster for ssb transmit audio.
