Thanks for your emails. My objective was not to 'stir up trouble' but
rather to indicate how accepting or denying QSOs on someone's individual
log is pretty much a hit-or-miss situation. If it were to be applied uniformly
to all logs, it would require some form of verification. (I was operating
in PJ2, no you weren't, yes I was on a boat, no the boat was 7.5 miles off
shore, yes, I ran through a relay station, no,it was a commercial cell
phone link, yes, it mounted on a ham radio tower, etc.)
Of course nothing is perfect and once upon a time operators wrote paper logs.
Somehow with the advent of computers came the machine knows better syndrome.
Just think, some day in the future we can pitch away the radio and antenna
instead using a computer soundcard to talk to another computer soundcard half
way around the world. Then printed verification credentials can be exchanged
without the need for any human intervention. Hey !! Isn't that today???
