Very important to note that on 40 that in the US our band goes to 7.125 and doesn't end at 7.100. Also JA's are often as low as 7.025 this is of course true in DXing as well as Contesting. I find that lately a lot of DX is working in the area 7.080 plus during contests.

Unlike most other bands, 40 meter RTTY assignments vary around the world. For
example, in Japan hams are limited to 7025-7045 for RTTY. If you are working an
international DX contest or just chasing DX,it's best to stay in that segment.

The ARRL recommends a DX calling frequency of 7040 although there is often a
broadcast carrier right on that frequency. Might be best to move up or down a
few hundred Hz.

On the other hand, by tradition US hams work 7080-7090 which is fine for
ragchewing and domestic contests and avoids most QRM from the CW guys.
