How mode-versatile are you? Consider the CQ WPX Triathlon Award, for
the highest cumulative-scoring Single-Op making at least 500 QSOs in each of
the three modes: RTTY, SSB and CW. Here are the criteria: 1) The CQ Triathlon
Award is open to everyone who operates in any
2) Single-Op category in all three CQ WPX contests: RTTY, SSB and CW.
Contenders must make a minimum of 500 QSOs in each mode.
3) Any Single-Op category may be used in each mode: Single-Op All Band
or Single Band, Single-Op Assisted, and any power category. These can be
different for each mode.
4) The Single-Op can operate from any location and the location for
each mode may be different. 5) Score will be based on the total score from all
three contests.
6) Results will be included with the CQ WPX CW results.

Subject: [RTTY] CQ WPX RTTY Contest

The 19th annual CQ WPX RTTY Contest is coming up fast ... in less than 4
days!  Conditions are projected to be similar to 2011, with solar activity
down from 2012 when we had strong openings on 10 meters.  The good news is
that 40 and 80 are likely to be better than last year and that's where we
earn double QSO points.  This is a good example of how the WPX QSO point
system sort of compensates for fluctuations in solar activity.

Be sure to visit the contest website, www.cqwpxrtty.com, for details.  In
particular please note:

    1. MixW users please read the MixW Notes on how to setup your log
BEFORE the contest so that a proper Cabrillo file can be created afterward.
There are also instructions for what you must do AFTER the contest.  It is
not difficult, but we receive hundreds of logs each year that are missing
serial numbers and have the incorrect Cabrillo format.    The majority of
faulty logs come from MixW users, so please help by carefully reading and
following the MixW instructions at www.cqwpxrtty.com/mixw.htm.

    2.  The new CQ contest log deadline applies, so logs are due by 15
February.  Don't procrastinate!  Send it in right after the contest.

    3.  The only other rule change is that the Multi-Two band change
limit is 8 per clock hour, down from the previous 10, which is now the same
as WPX CW/SSB.

PRACTICE SESSIONS

Thursday, 7 February, 2200-2230UTC
Friday, 8 February, 0200-0230UTC

Use the bands that are most active from your area at these times, 80-10
meters.  Setup just as you would for the actual contest, sending the normal
contest exchange with serial numbers, so you can test your station
completely.

Most of all get on next weekend and have FUN!
