HI Dave

I also think the 'TU' is the same as saying 'I got it all thanks' and moving
on.

What I don't understand is the ones who send 'W7WHY TU DE XX8XX QRZ' over
and over as their F3 message. Especially when they have a bunch of stations
all calling them. If I have a bunch of stations calling (which is not too
often :-), I just hit F3 and when it sends 'TU' I hit the escape key and
stop it right there.

Usually their call has already been sent 2 times - 'XX8XX TU 599 03 0R
XX8XX' in the exchange message. Why send it a 3rd time?

I alway just send 'TU W7WHY CQ' as F3. I figure after many hours of sending
RTTY, this also takes some of the load off the radio.

Having worked RTTY for more than 25 years I thought the use of TU in
addition to being Thank You was also the equivalent of QSL, as in, when
S&Ping, responding to the running station's exchange by sending: XX1XX
TU 599 05 NJ. No extra time needed to be polite, and sometimes it even
happens in CW.
