I did not renew my ARRL membership years ago. Even then,
whoever coined the phrase - "Follow the money" was right.
At the time I learned that most of the money 'flowing
through' the ARRL and it's paid staff was for the purpose
of Lobbying.

Lobbyists are required to make certain filings and
disclosures -- which sometimes are difficult to find
or understand. That's when I was shown (by a Washington
insider) where the much of the ARRL funding was derived.
Membership is only a part of their 'income' and the pay
of the lobbyists dwarfed that !!

Thus, I parted ways with the ARRL. Surely, some works of
the ARRL are beneficial. So were some of the donations
made by Al Capone, Boss Tweed, Big Tobacco, and others.
The funding source certainly deserves consideration.
