Jim,
It's a function of the Cabrillo format. Each column of data is defined as
starting at a specific line position, not just following on a few spaces
after the previous data.
All the most common logging programs produce a correct log with no problems,
which will go into the robot first time.
Descending serial numbers may have given you an advisory note in case you
wanted to correct your log in some way. This doesn't mean you will lose
those contacts.

It took me several times to get the robot to take my log for the BARTG HF
RTTY Contest. It is very picky, even on the number of spaces between
columns. Too many extra spaces and it truncates the line and data goes
missing off the end. It doesn’t like descending serial numbers either.
