100% duty cycle is full power output at all times. No time to cool off... Never switching the transmitter off. A broadcast transmitter is 100% duty cycle.

This is not what RTTY is unless you’re a broadcast station.

There are two issues, and I don't see either addressed completely in the
FLEX documentation, but I didn't see any warnings either. They are:

1. Can the transmitter run at 100% power for extended periods of time? RTTY
is a 100% duty cycle mode. When transmitting, you are transmitting at full
power.
2. Can the transmitter be run at 100% power and still produce a clean
signal? Most 12 volt PAs do not do 100 watt RTTY as clean as they do 50-75
watts. --73, Mike, WV2ZOW

RTTY contesting is effectively 50% duty cycle, at least until you need to
respond to someone who wants a ragchew. I have run RTTY contests on a K3,
and all kinds of FT1000 at full power. I have also run a K2 with a fan on
the heat sink at full power. ;) They all handle it without stress.
