Many rigs, like the FT 990 have a duty cycle rating. From the 990 manual:

"Duty cyde: 100%@100watts, 50%@100 watts (FM & RTfY,3-minute tx) "

I have not located such a spec in the FLEX literature. --73, Mike WV2ZOW
