Hi John,
I will hitting Hocking County too so you will have more than one chance !!
At last count I know of about 10 rover operations that are taking place. I just
posted the routes on the OQP webpage at http://www.qsl.net/mrrc/oqp.html .

Hello all:
Nothing big this weekend, but as you are tuning the bands, you may have
some fun in contests. The big interest for me will be the Ohio QSO
Party. The Ohio gang has supported our GQP well and they have files
available for downloading for NA. In fact, there is a freeware version
of NA available for the Ohio, Mich, and Fla QSO Parties that may be
downloaded from the OQP website. I need only one county confirmed in
Ohio (Hocking) and W8AV is supposed to operate from there. There will
be quite a number of mobiles out and they plan to cover the entire
state.
Complete info is available from the SM3CER and other contest websites.
TOEC WW Grid Contest. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. CW. Send RST plus first two
letters and numbers of your grid location. Such as 599EM72. Do not use
the bottom ten khz of the bands--a contest free zone.
Ohio QSO Party. 16Z Sat to 04Z Sun. One day contest. Send RST, Serial
# (begin with 001) and State. They send 599001 etc plus county. There
is a power mult. X5 for QRP, X2 for LP. Suggested freq: up 45 on CW.
3850, 7225, 14250, 21300, 28450. (I think these on SSB are the same as
GQP.)
Hawaii QSO Party. 16Z Sat to 22Z Sun. Send RST plus State. They send
RST plus county. (I still need the smallest--leper colony_-county.)
There are awards for QRP stations. They finally have published
suggested frequencies. In the past, you had to tune all of every band.
CW: Up 30 khz. SSB up25 khz from the bottom end of the General Class
band. (For those of you who have lost track, it would be 3875, 7250,
14250, 21325). Plus 28.3 to 28.5. (You will still have to tune a lot on
10.)
South Dakota QSO Party. (Maybe. The rules seem to be for 1998.) 16Z
Sat to 22Z Sun. Send Serial # plus ARRL Section. (That will be just
the same as state for all of us in the SECC circle. In FL, I am sure
the guys know if they are in NFL, SFL, or the new WCFL section.) No
suggested frequencies.
Slovenian Contest Club RTTY. Sat 12Z Sun 12Z. Send RST plus four digits
of first license. Example: 5991954.
Hope everyone has time to get on a little and has fun.
73, John, K4BAI.
