Bill,

At the risk of sounding like N4KG ( I will get emails from K4AB and AA4NU)
try gamma matching the boom of the A3.  There have been several articles
about the construction of one in the NCJ by K8CC, K4AB and N4KG.

I think K4AB uses one on his TH6 tower.

It would give you a rotary dipole on 40 meters, its cheap and it will keep
additional wires out of the yard.

I can mail or fax you a copy of the article if needed.
