4. ARRL Sweepstakes CW. 21Z Sat to 03Z Mon. Maximum 24 hours.
Minimum off period: 30 minutes. Exchange: Serial # + Precedence

Remember the half-hour warm up contests, 0330-0400Z Friday (local
Thursday night) and 0300-0330Z Saturday (local Friday night) to check
out and be sure everything is working OK.

5. High Speed Club (HSC) CW Contest. Sunday 09-11Z and 15-17Z. CW,
80-10M. Exchange: RST + HSC number or "NM" (for non member).
http://www.qsl.net/dl0hsc/en/contests.html. This is a club
headquartered in Germany of CW operators who are capable of sending and
receiving CW at speeds in excess of a certain speed--maybe it is 20 or
25 WPM. An applicant must have had a QSO at or above the qualifying
speed for 30 minutes or more and must collect 5 or 6 endorsements from
such contacts and submit them to the club secretary to get a number
issued. There is no annual fee. The club has periodic short contests
plus apparently some type of a Marathon to see the number of club
members that can be worked in each year. There are only a small number
of members in the USA, of which I am one and Larry, W1HMD in Virginia
(ex DL4LA) is another. Their contests are often at times that the bands
aren't open well from the US (09-11Z). But the 15-17Z time can be
pretty good on the bands 20 M and above if they are open to Europe.
Unfortunately, this contest conflicts with the ARRL SS in this country
and it is doubtful that too many contacts will be possible from here.

6. DARC 10 Meter Digital Contest. 11-17Z Sunday. RTTY, Amtor, Clover,
PSK31, Pactor. Exchange: RST + Serial #.
http://darc.de/referate/dx/cqdlcont/0410mdigitalcorona.htm.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and a lot of contacts, especially in
ARRL SS.

73,

John, K4BAI.
