This Week's Contests:
1. Thursday night NCCC SNS Slow Speed NA Sprint Practice. 0200-0215Z
Friday. 20, 40, 80 CW. 100W maximum. One kHz QSY rule. 23 WPM
maximium speed. Dupes OK after one intervening QSO or band change.
Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Note the addition of 20M this week.
2. NCCC Ladder Resumes. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday local). 100W
maximum power. Dupes OK after one intervening QSO or band change. One
kHz QSY rule. Exchange: both calls, E, name, SPC. Note return to
dupes OK for the remainder of the Ladder Series. This is likely to be
the last time for dupes being OK. After this Ladder Season ends, it is
likely that dupes won't be permitted due to increased participation.
3. VK (Australia) Shire Contest. 06Z Sat to 06Z Sun. 80-10M CW, SSB.
Exchange: RS(T) + CQ Zone or VK Shire. Wrok only Australian
stations. (Yes, some of them do have four letter suffixes, all starting
with "F," for example, VK4FRAJ. These are low power "Foundation" licensees.
4. Sea Net Contest. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. 80-10M CW, Phone, RTTY.
Exchange: RS(T) + Serial #.
5. RSGB and Region One CW Field Days. 160-10M CW. Exchange: RST +
serial #. Work RSGB and/or ITU Region One portable stations.
6. Alabama QSO Party. 16Z Sat to 04Z Sun. 160-10M CW, SSB. Exchange:
RS(T) + SP (or "DX") or AL county.
I will likely be one of the CW ops at WX4RUS in the Alabama QSO Party
from the Russell County, AL EOC. Please help out our AL friends with as
many QSOs as possible. I know those of you in AL will be out in full
force. This is developing into a great State QSO Party.
The PVRC Reunion event will be this weekend too, but, unlike the past
several years, it is closed to non-members this year.
Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend and a lot of QSOs.
73,
John, K4BAI.
