Comments:
Had "Space Weather" up on a separate monitor given solar condition, but
never expected an M1 class flare 5 minutes after the start. Upper bands
went nearly dead by 1820Z with that nice "rolling ocean" sound, and I
considered taking an hour off starting in the first hour - that would
have been a mistake. Anyway, you could hear it fade away by 1930Z, so
back to plan A for off times.
There are still no decent 10 and 15 antennas here, and with LP I can't
push
through poor conditions. Will somebody PLEASE add a HP category to the
August NAQP? Based on signal strengths of known stations, a lot of the
guys have their amps on as it is. The playing field will be a lot more
level if we make it legal.
This contest is always fun. I tied or beat my prior August scores on
most
bands, except for 10/15. 80 and 160 QRN were down for an hour or two
but came back up for the last two hours. CU in the next one...N4GG
2X FT1000MP+INRAD, WRITELOG, Home Brew SO2R. Wires in the woods,
including
K9AY loop.
