This Week's Contests:
1. Tonight, Thursday local. 0100-0230Z (Friday). 20M Fox
Extravaganza. up and down from 14060 khz. All of the Foxes from this
season plus alternates plus the QRP Fox Hunt committee can work Hounds
by calling CQ FOX. Exchange: RST + SPC + Name + Power. No formal
score reporting. Just a change to make some two-way QRP CW contacts.
Run no more than 5W.
2. NCCC SNS and NS. Thursday night local, Friday UTC. 0200-0220Z for
SNS. 15, 20, 40, 80M. 100W power limit. 18-26 WPM speed limit. One
kHz QSY rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. NS Ladder. Final
event of this season, I think. 0230-0259Z. Same rules as SNS except
add 160M band and no speed limit.
3. Thursday and Friday there are a couple of half hour practice
sessions sponsored by NCCC for CQ WW RTTY Contest. I sent out an
announcement by W0YK, but didn't keep the details.
4. CQ WW DX Contest, RTTY. 48 hours of weekend. 80-10M RTTY.
Exchange: RST + State/VE area or RST + CQ zone for non US/VE stations.
5. Texas QSO Party. 14Z Sat to 02Z Sun; 14-20Z Sun. All bands except
60M and WARC bands. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC or TX County. Bonus points
for multiple QSOs with TX mobiles per county. You must use the official
4-letter abbreviations for the TX counties. You can download a list
from the website.
7. September Straight Key Century Club Sprint (SKS). Tuesday night
local 0000Z-0200Z Wednesday. 160-10M CW. Exchange: RST + SPC + Name
+ SKCC# or power. Use a mechanical key.
8. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Wednesday local. 1300Z, 1900Z Wed and
0300Z Thursday. Three one hour mini tests. 20, 40, 80M CW only.
Exchange: Name + CWOps # or SPC.
