Well - of course, when I type RG, I see about 8 entries, including
DU9RG.
Did you press some other key after entering the 9RG? If you press
space bar right away AND you are using a slower computer, the program
will probably stop displaying new entries in the SCP display and go
off and process your keystroke (the space bar).
The reason? If you have a slower computer and entered something lame
like JA1, the program might take some time filling up the display. If
you type another letter, the whole SCP list needs to be redone, so it
stops putting up any more letters.
What happens in the case of the SPACE BAR is that the routine will stop
putting up 9RG calls, and then a routine will be called to put up the
partial calls for the call window contents - which are "9RG". The SCP
routine tries to be smart and if it gets called with the same partial
call that is just processed - it will do nothing... so it does nothing
and the display doesn't change after the SPACE BAR. When you finally
get a different entry in the call window and press the SPACE BAR then
it will refresh.
So - does this match what you saw? If you enter 9RG now and nothing
after it, does it work correctly? Do you see the display fill up
one call at a time - or does is all appear at once?
This can also be made "worse" by having a very large database.
