[TRLog] forcing dupes into the log

Subject: [TRLog] forcing dupes into the log

The SS exchange is rather long, so for this contest I have
AUTO DUPE ENABLE CQ = TRUE.

Every now and then, someone will insist that I am not in his log,
so I have to work him again. Naturally, the program resists
entering the same callsign, so the call has to be changed some way.
I usually add a portable designator, e.g. K5RX becomes K5RX/5.
Of course I don't want that to go out over the air, so it usually
involves a frenzy of alt-k's, paddle sending, swearing, and various
other means to get the contact worked, and the call into the log.

Is there a more graceful way to do this? Could the program perhaps
add a character, such as asterisk, that could be typed after the
call, which would not go out over the air, not appear in the log,
and allow the station to be worked?
