Assuming you have a microphone connected to the mic input on your SBDVP and
that DOS indicated it initialized successfully, try this:

Alt-P/O/CQExchng (there will be a typo on the programming screen, but
ignore it.

Hit Alt-W to record, and record a sample message. There will be NO
indication that you are recording. Hit ESC when done.

Turn up the volume on your computer speakers and press Alt-R -- you should
hear the message played back.

All of TR's special messages that play when you hit ENTER at a particular
point in a particular mode can be recorded this way - makes it pretty neat.
When S&Ping during the 10m contest, I often went 10-20 QSOs without EVER
having to talk myself - the program did it all.

Another way to test is to connect your microphone and turn up the speakers
while talking into the mic (with SBDVP running). You should hear yourself
(at least I can, using a "real" SB-16 sound card).
