The Alt B/V function seems to be sticky on my OMNI VI+. Using Alt B
to change from 160 to 80 moves the highlight from 160 to 80 and then
back again, Alt B again, changes the radio to 80 but leaves the 160
highlight and the band indicated as 160CW (1820.0 kHz), Alt B again
(third time), moves the band, and frequency display to 80. However,
now TR will not follow a manual frequency change from the radio dial.
Changing bands to 40 manually on the radio causes the frequency
display to disappear and the band indication (highlight and readout on
the call entry line) to stay at 80. Doing an Alt B again, causes the
band information to change on TR log but no response from the manual
dial movement on the radio. No frequency is displayed on TR. Changing
frequency in band from TR (from 7022 to 7220) changes the radio
frequency -- filter remains in narrow (.50). Alt B again caused the
radio and TR to change to 20 Meters (14025) -- still no frequency
display on TR. Alt B three times caused the radio to change to 15
Meters (21025) and display 20M with the frequency display now active
(14007.2). Alt B again causes TR to jump to 15 Meters and the correct
frequency is displayed. Changing the frequency on the radio does not
change the frequency displayed on the TR screen. Changing from RUN to
S&P and changing the radio frequency does not cause the TR frequency
to change. Using Alt V causes similar behavior.
Power cycling the radio causes the frequency display to disappear and
then reappear showing the correct frequency, but TR does not repeat
frequency changes from the dial. Rebooted the computer and the
frequency display is still frozen.
Computer: Pentium 1 class processor booted to Windows 98 DOS from a
floppy.
Radio: OMNI VI+ converted to plus at factory. Using radio,s 25 pin D
connector for Serial input.
ICOM 735 selected in configuration file.
Changed:
ICOM COMMAND PAUSE = 300; 500
ICOM RESPONSE TIMEOUT = 300; 500
Same behavior
Changed Radio to ICOM725
Frequency display started working correctly in TR -- follows manual
frequency changes. Alt V/B remain as above. Typing a frequency in the
call area changes the radio freq and will change the band if
different.
The radio configuration in the .cfg file:
SINGLE RADIO MODE = TRUE
RADIO ONE TYPE = IC725
RADIO ONE CONTROL PORT = SERIAL 4
RADIO ONE RECEIVER ADDRESS = 4
RADIO ONE BAUD RATE = 1200
RADIO ONE NAME = OMNI VI
ICOM RESPONSE TIMEOUT = 500
ICOM COMMAND PAUSE = 500
