Bob,

One way I have used the A/B VFO is similar to what Ken describes. When using one radio rather than run on the A VFO I run on the B VFO. When bandmap data gets loaded to the radio it get loaded into VFO A. So while you are S&Ping (using the A VFO) and notice a station you might like to work type in the call and hit the space bar. This loads the station into the bandmap. When you find your run frequency and start running hit A=B and swap to the B VFO. Now you can easily load stuff in the A VFO to work when you get a chance.

As an aside remember that you can program the frequency for either VFO directly from the call window in TRLog. Normally just entering a freq changes the A VFO. Adding a "B" to the end with no spaces will change the B VFO freq. When you get a second radio another feature is useful whene using ctrl-enter will load the freq into the second radio instead.

You can also use the second VFO to keep track of rivals or the pileup
on some multiplier you need. If you are S&Ping and come across a station of interest like this (and maybe the pileup is too big to get into yet) store it in B VFO and every so often you can quickly
check on that frequency by a quick A/B switch to see if the pileup is now bustable or to see what serial number your rival is up to, if they've moved to another band, etc.

There are all sorts of contest uses for two VFOs.

I use a K2, which can do A/B switching, but still only operates one
circuit at a time.

Thanks for any ideas that might come up.
