I had this problem many years ago once on a W6AQ computer. I believe I
had somehow cooked the particular LPT port card and had to replace it and
the problem stopped.
I also remember maybe it had something to do with the old pull-down
resistor issue? Not sure, my memory is probably failing.
Anyway Dale, I presume you checked the obvious, like your paddle didn't
tighten up and is actually sending
"dah-di-dah-di-dah-di-dah-di-dah-di-dah" on both sides?
:) More recently I had this but it was with a new out-of-the-box
interface cable that turned out to be just plain shorted internally. The
manufacturer shipped another promptly.
Does it do it on another LPT port? On another computer?
