For various reasons, I couldn't get on full-time as a guest-op in the
WPX phone last weekend. I scrounged a few hours to make a few dozen QSOs
from home on my three-bander vertical. Sometime back, I moved from a Windows
box to a Mac Mini at the operating desk, and this was the first time I'd been
faced with the question of how to log contest QSOs on the Mac. I downloaded
DOSBox, and within a few minutes I had TR Log up and running and created
a very simple config file to get going - no rig control, no CW, no network,
no packet, etc. It worked great. Except.
I wasn't really paying attention to the clock and I began to log at
29-Mar-13 21:50 (local time). OK - no big deal - I can fix that after the
contest. What's odd, though, is that DOSBox never rolled over the date and
just kept incrementing the hour. I have QSOs in the log with timestamps
like '29-Mar-13 58:32', '29-Mar-13 65:35' and my final contact at
'29-Mar-13 66:59'. As far as I can tell, the minutes are accurate and I
can manually correct the hours/dates before I send in the log.
Has anyone else encountered this before? If I ever try to use DOSBox
again for TR, is there anything I can set in the configs to not have this
happen again?
