I wonder if the circuit was revised at some point during the Corsair II
production cycle? Mine certainly has the harmonic-rich sound.
But as I've mentioned to several others, all the fuzz disappears and I'm
left with a pure tone when I run it through my MFJ 784b DSP unit.
