True but if one is attempting to bypass VHF or UHF frequencies, a high value
cap such as a .005 could actually act as an effect rf choke due to the
internal inductive reactance in both the leads and metal plates inside. An
example would be "feed-thru" type caps used in VHF work. Here, we rely the
capacitance of a wire passing an insulated hole in a chassis!

If one has computer noise on 2 meters then a much smaller capacitor should
be used across the ac source such as 100pf. This can be in additon to the
.01uf. The HF noise would pass easily through the .01uf while VHF noise
would find it easier to zip through the 100pf cap. Keep the leads short on
the 100pf though.

NOW...since this is a TenTec reflector let me end by saying....This works
best for computer noise in TenTec rigs. Be sure to use genuine TenTec
capacitors (if you can find one made in the USA).
