Jim, KH7M brought up a subject that while not directly related to the
reflector, should be discussed and clarified for some of the
guys who run qrp/battery operated gear.
The 13.8 volt nominal supply voltage was picked because of=20
use with batteries. Most lead/acid and lead/calcium batteries
require 2.3 volt per cell float voltage, A large variance from that
voltage drastically reduces the life of the cells.
If you are using other types of batteries such as Gell Cell, cadmium,
etc, you should check the mfg for specs to insure long life of
your investment.
