You've got that right. I was even told by a guy on the air that he would
never buy a Ten Tec because it didn't have enough buttons. I asked him what
all the buttons on his radio were for, and he said he didn't care if he
never used most of the buttons, they just looked good. He said the lack of
buttons makes Ten Tec look cheap.
I have a Radio Shack two meter HT which covers only the ham band (not a
great rig, I admit). My wife has an Icom which is useless in any city due
to all the intermod. But, this is apparently what people want.
