Glad someone knew about Austin Innovtions night lights. I had forgotten about
them.
Here is the contact info for possible backlight application to the Delta II
transceiver:

Phones are 832-4820 and 339-6765
No connection to them, except read of them as a local start up eager for
business some time ago.
Hope this might be a source for something that will work.
