I'm currently using a Corsair 2 with both the 500 hz and 1.8 khz
filters. Most of my operating is with cw, but I listen often on ssb. I
also use the NIR-12 to remove some of the unwanted background noise and
narrow the audio passband. I have also owned an early DSP-9 and also
give it good marks, but the NIR-12 has much more flexibility. There is
always a trade-off when you process your receive audio. It depends on
what type of operating you do. I agree with Daune......try one out
before you decide to purchase. I've noticed some reasonable prices for
used NIR-12's and DSP-599's.
