Sorry Jack but the Omni V and the Hercules are looking at the same
load - a Model 238 tuner that indicates a near 1:1 match? Just for
the heck of it I put my Autek RF Analyst in the line and it says the
SWR is 1.2 and the Z is 49 ohms.
I don't think it's the load.
