Hi gang,
I have a model 1220, with the 30 W amplifier installed. The PL
(CTCSS) tone is too loud. It seems to be louder on high power.
I think that the tone, which is generated by the microprocessor,
is getting into the VCO and modulating it through some path
other than the audio input. Has anyone observed this and can
suggest a mod? I suspect that the tone may be getting in through
the VCO power wiring, but a couple of attempts with bypass capacitors
has proven fruitless, so far.
