You need to have the wire from the ham rig antenna center coax connection laid
near the circuit board of your kit. Turn on the BFO of the YAECOMWOOD and
listen for a carrier, as you adjust the VFO. You do not say what kit, but I
guess you are trying to tune up a kit VFO into some ham band like 40 CW, so
the Yaecomwood needs to be set to range of the kit tuning.
