Well my theory is....If the agc attacks too fast and too hard, it simply
blips out a cw character. You mentioned the TS-570 and I had one here too.
It was terrible in that reguard. On 80m, the slightest amount of static
would make the agc blip out dits like a noise blanker. I just couldn't use
the thing so out it went. Yes, the Omni D's thump and carry on when a strong
signal hits them but cw comes right on through the static.
