If I read the comparison correctly, you used the Triton IV
with the AF CW filter engaged and then tried to get the
FT-1000 and the OMNI VI to sound the same using their
filtering systems?
It may not be a fair comparison. Since the AF
CW filter in the Triton will cut off the hiss very nicely,
of course the background noise (depending on where your
hearing peaks!) will be reduced below another rig with
basic SSB audio sections. Besides, the Triton IV costs
so much more than the others, hi hi hi.
