Howdy Folks,

My EMAIL software replies to whatever address the message I'm
replying to was sent from. (Hmm Hope that makes sense.) If I see a
question or comment on an email reflector that I wish to comment on,
I decide where to route the reply.

If I'm unsure of my answer or don't fully understand the question I
usually reply direct to the individual and NOT to the list. I also
try NOT to send replies to the list that might embarrass either the
recipient or myself! The process of sending ONLY to the individual
for me is easiest done by cutting and pasting his address into the TO
block of a NEW MESSAGE and NOT using the REPLY button.

If I'm confident in my reply and particularly if I think others might
be interested or benefit from it - Then I send it to BOTH the
individual AND to the list. I think it is possible to post to this
list without being subscribed to it. If I reply ONLY to the list
then the person posing the question may NOT see my reply.

Oh, while I'm on the soapbox.....I really dislike including the
entire original message when replying. PLEASE, only include enough
of the message for readers to know what question was asked and NOT
the entire message, header, signature and ALL! The amount of
reading/scanning required to enjoy this reflector would be MUCH LESS
if we would all make this standard practice. I get the original
posts with questions or new topics like everyone else - - I don't
need a dozen more copies of it with replies!
