That may have been me.

Remove the speaker from the false top and mount a fan in it's place. I
used a 24v fan from an old printer. It ran slowly but provided just the
right amount of air flow to stop the drift during long winded cq qso's.
Since this 
required redrilling the holes, I purchased a spared speaker frame just to
have on hand in case I ever sold the rig (which I did)thus putting it back
in original condition. Any fan will work of course  but I don't like a lot
of noise. Using resistors to slow them down doesn't always work. Most PC
fans have built in dc to ac converters and they don't want to start up
properly with low voltage. DC fans with brushes make too much racket for
my liking. 

Actually, I think all the rig needs is a well vented lid. I'm thinking
about taking my Omni C to a metal frabrication shop and seeing what they
can do.
