Here here John, and so say all of us!

Perhaps if we started giving proper signal reports instead of 5x9ing
everyone or just keep giving them dups because you can't hear anything
else within 50 Kc of them it would put a dent in this trend. I always
thought the idea was to have maximum efficiency bringing your signal in
as narrow as possible. Wasn't that the original intent of the speech
compressor?

I detest this Bird Shot approach of contesting. For the time being at
least they haven't found a way to screw up a CW sig. which has the added
feature of filters on the receiver end.

I run Omni-V's RF gain down to just cut out the band noise floor, about
2 or 3 o'clock. The Omni-V offers a great complement of options for the
receiver but when you get one of those blabbering idiots on there forget
it. I'd like to give them some pay back but there's just no way to make
a Ten*Tec sound that bad!

73, Jeff aa8ve The best ham's on the band are running Ten*Tec gear!

PS I can't wait for the influx of Power mics, Roger beeps, Kickers,
and all that gud buddy.....
