Basically, yes......All else is the same.

One thing which can be appreciated on the 544 is that you won't need to
replace the "stretch" dial cord every 4 or 5 years.

On the other hand, speaking from a "perception" standpoint, tuning an
analog dial gave you the feel of "traveling" from one point to another,
whereas a digital dial just changes numbers.  A minor point, but something
I started to miss after many years of digital displays.
