One of the most insidious noise sources I had to overcome was being brought into
the house on the telephone lines. My antenna, in the back yard is a full wave
horizontal loop on 80mt, about 20ft above ground. It works great. However I had
a lot of noise. I finally traced it to the telephone lines. I think they were
bringing in signals from the cable TV system. I fixed it by installing a line
filter in the phone line in the basement. It is advertised in QST. It worked
very very well. Cast about $5 and was installed using wire nuts or a clip lead.
