Tried to stay within a 5 KHz bandwidth, but who could tell? Reception was
by slope detection with conventional AM receiver. You tuned off frequency
to put the carrier (?) on the slope of the IF response and got
demodulation that way. In those days, receivers were "broad!"

Got me there on exact dates. I had temporarily become rather inactive due
to college, etc. back in those days and really didn't keep up with
developments on new bands.

Well, that also has another rather vulgar CB connotation that we will not
go into here.

We'll sure try! My Elmer turned 100 last year and is still active on 20
CW.
