I'm taking liberty of posting it here for the person who asked the

"The one I am familiar with is this. Follow the leads from the pot to
the digital control board. They arrive there via a white connector.
Put a 0.1 uF cap accross these leads near the board. I chose to strip
back the wires and the cap floats on the connector. This settled it
down.
>From what I understand, the analog to digital converter (ADC)
for the keyer was cut in resolution because the memory locations
to accomodate the resolution were needed by the plus software.
The vanilla Omni 6 must have accomodated fractional WPM where
as the 6+ goes in steps of 1 WPM (I've been told this but do not
recall for certain if this exactly true.). In any case, Noise on the
pot line causes that ADC to jitter across WPM boundries. The
cap bypasses this noise to ground.
