Both rigs work well.  N4LQ is correct about the different IF frequencies.
The Delta works 17 meters while the late Omni rigs (Omni-c) encounter
trouble on transmit because the 18 MHz band is twice the IF frequency.
There may be other mixed products, too, but the upshot is that the Omni-C
tends to have spurious output(s) on that band.

An advantage of the Omni-C (or Omni-D) is that its digital dial calibration
is much more accurate than the 580 Delta.  This is because the Delta does
not count the band crystal frequency but prescales the counter to what the
band crystal ought to be.  So the Delta may read 2 kHz off on one band and 2
kHz the other way on another band.
