I suppose a hint to one of the other stations on the same channel would
cause a check of distant signal strength and a complaint to the FCC
about the stations that neglected to drop their power at night.

There's been a high pass filter schematic for AM BC rejection in the
ARRL handbook for a couple decades.

Some antenna tuners will have some BC rejection, some won't have much
and the rejection in all that have some is dependent on tuning and load
impedance. Many times there are multiple choices of tuning inductance
and C and for BC rejection the tuning that uses the smallest series C
probably will reject BC signals the best.
