I'll second that motion. I've yet to find a car (domestic OR foriegn) that
doesn't have a loose fastener somewhere. I got my Centurion secondhand
from an estate, and it'd been transported halfway across the country by
non-hams. It had a few loose fasteners, which I went through and tightened
on my own personal inspection. They could've been that way from day one,
for all I know, but they've never come loose on me since.

I'll add note that Icom's IC-7xx series HF rigs from the early-mid '80's
were notorious for loose screws, and not because they weren't tightened
during assembly. The screws were not set up with lockwashers, and with
thermal expansion from the optional internal power supplies, they'd
eventually loosen every darned PC-board screw. Every time my IC-745 starts
sounding a little ragged on the RX or TX side, I just open up the covers
and go from one end to the other, and torque each screw, replace the
covers, and return to operating.

I'll note, however- the Omni VI and Centurion whomps daisies all over the
IC-745 and SB-220, loose screws, or no loose screws.
