Traditionally, the ALC on Ten Tecs is the green light that blinks on voice
peaks. This is still the case with the Jupiter. With the mic gain set at
50%, the mic should play nicely. If it is a 3rd party mic. ie. not a ten tec
mic, then the output of the mic should be adjusted to the Jupiter set at
50%.
If it does not play at 50, then set it higher and there is a chance you can
get the ALC to blink on voice peaks at a slightly higher setting. If it does
not, then you need to reassess the mic. Try to find one (a mic) that has
enough output to get the ALC to blink at the 50% setting. The processor is
also set at 50%, when it is wanted/ needed this setting should work nicely.
Your gas mileage may vary, but that's the idea for setting the ALC on the
Jupiter.
