It would have been nice if the TCXO was powered up all the time. That would have solved the stability issues. I have had rigs that had that feature. The power switch killed power to every part of the rig except for the TCXO or X-tal oven. I suppose that the Orion is accurate and/or stable "enough" or Ten-Tec would have incorporated that feature.
