DXLab currently provides all of the functionality you seek for your Argo
V -- transceiver control, PSK31/PSK63 with broadband decoding and callsign
extraction, and comprehensive logging and award tracking ; it also supports
the Jupiter, Orion, Pegasus, Omni VI, and Omni V.9.

Additional functionality includes RTTY (using both the MMTTY engine and/or
an external modem), propagation prediction and monitoring, realtime DX spot
collection and analysis, QSL route discovery, antenna rotation, and world
map display of the solar terminator, beam heading, and recent DX spots.

I know that the Jupiter can be run in "Pegasus Mode"; if the Argo V can do
the same, then you can continue to use your N4PY software for transceiver
control and still enjoy integration with DXLab's logging, digital mode,
propagation monitoring, and spot collection capabilities.

DXLab is free, and available via www.qsl.net/dxlab . Comprehensive online
help can be viewed without first downloading and installing the software,
so you can quickly assess its capabilities.

Subject: [TenTec] Argo V - PSK Software

I have recently been trying PSK31 Deluxe with my Argo V and it works very
nicely. The authors have recently (Oct 8/03) provided a version of the
software that is incorporated with an interface for the Argo (Ham Radio
Deluxe - kit). The combination of these 2 pieces of software allows for
control of the rig in PSK with PTT handled by the software (no additional
external PTT interface required). With the Argo only connections to the
sound card are needed.

The PSK31 (and PSK63) software works very nicely but there is a learning
curve and the on line help is being written. The radio interface is useable
but, in my opinion, nowhere near as functional as the N4PY software. (If
that could be incorporated with PSK31 Deluxe ........).

The "Super Browser" function (SB Button) allows users to scan the entire
portion of the 3 kHz PSK window and decode ALL activity simultaneously and
pick the specific CQ you want to answer.

Anyway, I thought I'd point it out to Argo V users. (Rumour has it a
Jupiter interface is next on the agenda.)

Finally, I'm still waiting for Logger32 software (with Zakanaka for PSK31)
to finally include the Argo V (Jupiter, Orion and Pegasus) and Omni V.9 in
the rig interface capabilities. In the interim I think I'll give PSK31
Deluxe a shot!
