I've made parallel line of two pieces of RG59 or RG8X, same length,
taped together, at tuner end, join shields, ground shields - at
other end just outside house, join shields, weather proof - connect tuner terminals to center conductors, 450 line to center conductors - you can coil it, twist it, lay it on metal, etc. just use enough to get outside. been very good I have also made a choke balun of RG8 on big coffee can and directly connected ladder line to center and shield outside - been ok - also use short piece of coax to outside then a remote 4 to 1 balun and ladder line. Best balun, even at qrp has been Radioworks remote - the LDG 4 to 1 is not as good, saturates easily. my preference is the first, although all 3 work Dave K8BBM On Sun, 19 Oct 2003 20:11:37 -0400 MIKE BRYCE <prosolar@sssnet.com> wrote: boys and girls..
