These are the ghost signals given off by various government service
communications centers of the past on halloween. If you try to notch them
out they may toilet paper your ladder line raising the SWR uncessarily and
heating up your finals. If you treat them with candy or even a discreet
component, they will leave you alone and disappear by midnite, only to
reappear again next halloween. You may want to appear as a kindred spirit by
dressing up as a spurious emmission, see the ARRL Handbook for appropriate
garb.
